Aloha! Event Network was in need of a contemporary men’s resort design collection for tees, caps and other items for their resort gift shops in Hawaii. The style needed to be hand drawn icon art with an artistic island feel for mainly a male demographic. The art was then expanded to women’s and kid’s products. I created several options of island and Hawaii themed graphics + phrases for them to choose from.
Arched text layouts and overlapping elements are very popular among the island wear/surf apparel brands. I wanted to incorporate a similar look and pair them with fun island phrases. I also made sure the designs and color platte aligned with the moodboard that was provided. Sunsets, palm trees, waves and pineapples were the main illustrations the designs revolved around.
The overall collection is a perfect blend of a laid back island vibe with an elevated, contemporary Hawaii resort wear aesthetic.
