My Brand Identity Design Process
Part 1: Getting Started
After you have officially booked with me, (*throws confetti*) I’ll have you fill out a brand questionnaire to help me understand your business and brand vision. In the form you’ll send me a link to your Pinterest board that showcases what you would like your brand to look like and design aesthetics that you gravitate towards. Then we can discuss in further detail more about your brand and what your goal is with the brand identity.
Some of the questions in the brand questionnaire are:
What’s the story behind your business?
What are your brand mission & values?
Who is your main demographic?
What’s your goal for the brand identity/rebrand?
Pinterest board with a visibly clear vibe/style includes:
Typography - fonts
Lifestyle Photos - vibe of brand: people, scenery, etc.
Color Palette - colors within images/pins
Design Inspiration - logos, icons, illustrations, etc.
Texture - such as paint, wood, velvet, water, foil, makeup, cream, clothing, shadows, etc.
Example Pinterest board below features a playful, desert, boho vibe.
Part 2: Moodboard & Strategy
After all the details are discussed, I’ll make a Moodboard and outline a strategy for your brand in a Creative Brief. Here we will narrow in on your target audience and decide on a direction for a color palette and typography.
The moodboard features the best selection of images that represent the branding vision from the Pinterest board. All the elements will be displayed in an organized and aesthetic moodboard template that includes the:
Color Palette
Design Inspiration
Photography
Descriptive words that represent the brand
We want to clearly highlight the WHY behind your brand and your new brand identity.
This is an important part as it sets up the actual design process.
The purpose behind your brand will be shown through visuals and be represented in the overall vibe.
A cohesive identity design will make your brand standout and help you achieve your goals with your updated look.
Part 3: Design & Revisions
Next, I’ll design a few primary logo options for you to choose from.
After a selection has been made with any needed edits, I’ll design the full brand identity system which will include:
- Selected Primary Logo
- Secondary Logos
- Submark Logo
- Color Palette
- Font Pairings
- Design Elements / Icons / Illustrations / PatternI will send you a Brand Concept Presentation that showcases your new brand identity complete with brand application mockups of print and digital materials.
After you have looked everything over, this is the time to make revisions. I allow up to two rounds of revision cycles where we can tweak the brand elements.
Part 4: Deliverables
After any revisions have been made and everything is approved, I will put together a Brand Style Guide for you to reference going forward.
It will be complete with all the details you will need regarding your new brand identity.
I will then send you all the final brand assets in a digital package that includes the logos in a variety of necessary formats, in color and in black and white, for web and print.
Color codes, fonts and all brand elements will be in the package as well.
Yay! Your brand is ready to launch! ☻ (*YOU throw confetti*) :・゚✧*:・゚✧
