These are six graphic design trends that I think are pretty timeless, for awhile at least ;) These trends are still popular in 2023 and have been seen in the graphic design world for years. They can be incorporated into art prints, branding, apparel design, stationery, etc. All of the art that you see below are my designs!

FUN TYPOGRAPHY

Fun typography is probably my favorite design “trend.” I LOVE creating digital art with type, different fonts, hand lettering and having it be the focal point or adding in some illustrations, color, design elements to make the whole piece a little more special and interesting to look at it.

GRADIENTS

Design with gradient backgrounds have been increasingly more popular over time and I don’t see them going away anytime soon. They add a dream-like quality to the art while giving it a contemporary feel at the same time. They help add color to a design in a playful way.

RETRO

Retro art can range from 1960s vibes to 1990s style. Think bold funky type, lots of color and rainbow design elements. Retro art is very popular in all forms of design. It can be seen in the VSCO girl trend, fun graphic tees, stationery and branding.

ARCHED TYPE LAYOUTS

Arched type designs are most popular among the surf + street apparel brands. Men’s tees usually have it as a large back print on a graphic shirt. This design can also be incorporated into badge, patch and emblem designs. They give a playful yet sophisticated quality.

BADGE DESIGNS

National Park badge designs have been used as inspiration for a variety of art, products and brands. This look is very timeless and can fit a variety of projects. It’s fun to play around with how the type and illustration will fit together in a confined shaped space.

MINIMALISM

Minimalistic design is very popular in graphic design especially with luxury brands. Neutral or minimal colors paired with simple type + design elements give the overall look an elevated and sophisticated quality.
